It was almost 15 years ago when I first took an interest in magic. It all began when I saw a famous magician by the name of Lance Burton perform in Las Vegas, he levitated across the stage in a Ferrari as his big finale. From that moment on I was hooked on magic. I was one of the kids who never stopped doing magic once I got started. My family always encouraged me to pursue magic and have continued to support me and my dream in lieu of taking the more traditional 9 to 5 route.
I began as a performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood at the ripe age of 16. At an early age, I experienced the cut-throat attitude of Hollywood. However, with a lot of determination, I was able to achieve one of the most significant feats for a young magician by performing on the grand-stage called the Palace of Mystery. Following my success at the Palace of Mystery, I focused on performances at Disneyland and local hotels in the Disneyland resort area. With more experience came more exposure, which ultimately led to performances for celebrity birthday parties and Fortune 500 Company events. Even now, after working as a professional magician for over a decade, I am constantly searching for ways to improve my performances and evolve for the better. My upcoming grand-scale illusion show in a prime example, wherein during the finale a woman levitates and disappears in mid-air. It’s amazing to see how much the industry has evolved and how far magic has come in the time since I began performing. I can only imagine the heights it will take in the future.
Is there a moment in your life that sticks out as particularly impactful? Have you ever seen a magic show or other stage performance that truly amazed you?
